Chef Janese Boston grew up in difficult circumstances — raised by her grandmother after a turbulent childhood, she dropped out of school after 9th grade, made the wrong choices, and spent four years in prison. She will tell you that directly, because her story isn't something to hide. It's the whole point.

When she came out, she eventually found food. She studied culinary arts, worked her way through so many types of kitchens, and built Living Proof Chef Service from nothing. Not with the right connections or the traditional background — but with 10 years of consistent, extraordinary work at some of the highest tables in the room.

Over that decade she has worked across nearly every type of kitchen and dining experience — from country club lines and catering operations to private residences, retreat kitchens, nonprofit events, and high-profile tables where the guests included celebrities, athletes, politicians, and executives. No two events have looked the same. Every one has been held to the same standard.

Chef Janese is also the founder of Be Living Proof, a nonprofit carrying that same message to young people across Ohio — including the Build a Bond Toy Drive, which supports children with an incarcerated parent.
